Summer 2024

Upcoming Dates to Remember:
**Graduate Packet Pickup: Graduates or Grads parents, please come pick up packets, today, Friday, 5/24 if possible! Michele Sales will be in the HS Office until 3pm. Please call if you cannot pick up today and arrange another time. You can also call and give permission for someone else to sign for your packet pick up.  If your transcript is not in your packet, it will be mailed to  you.  / Summer School - May 28-June 25: See information below in Announcements section for the two types of Summer School for Junior High.
High School is credit recovery only if a class was failed during 23-24 school year.

Sports & Activities News:
**Dead Week for all Sports and Activities: August 3rd-August 11th, there will be no athletic practices or weight room activity during this week.

**Booster Club will have their Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 22. See the Polo Athletic Booster Club Facebook page for more information.

Summer Sports/Activities information:
Weights:
Starting Tuesday, 5/28 from 6:30-8:30am and continuing weekdays, excluding Fridays. NO Weights the week of July 1st, but starts back July 8th.

Football:
5/29 - 5/30: HS Introductory Camp 6-8pm / JH - 6pm Wednesday, 5/29 only. Meet in the Gym
7/17-7/18, 7/22-7/23, 7/25, 7/29-8/1: HS Football Camp 6-8:30. Cost of camp is $40
7/24: HS 9am at Mid-Buchanan
8/1: HS 9am at Lathrop
7/29-8/1: JH Football Camp 6-7:30pm. Meet in the Gym on the first night.
8/12: First official day for HS Practice

Basketball:
5/29-5/31: Basketball Camp for those entering 7th-12th grade. 9am-12pm. A schedule for the rest of the summer will be given out then. Email JuncoJ@polo.k12.mo.us for any additional questions.

Cheer:
Summer Practice dates times: 6/4, 6/11, 6/13, 6/17, 6/19, 6/25, and 6/27 from 2-4pm. 7/9, 7/11 and 7/23, 7/25 9am-11am. 7/30, 8/1 2pm-4pm
Cheer Camp: Week of 7/15. Monday, 7/15 (12-6pm), Tuesday, 7/16 (9am-4pm), Wednesday, 7/17 (9am-4pm)

Wrestling:
6/5, and 6/12: Wrestling, Weights & Open Mat 7:30-9:30am. 7/10 Wrestling, Weights & Open Mat 7:30-10am.
6/17 - 6/21: Wrestling Benedictine Camp

Softball:
HS: Beginning 7/9 Softball Camp - Evenings - TBA (Tuesdays - Thursdays
JH: 7/29 - 8/2: Softball Camp - Morning - TBA

Band:
Band Camp: 7/29-8/2 Morning - TBA

Sports Physical Material:
A current Sports Physicals must be on file in the HS Office or with your coach before you can begin practice. You will also need an Annual form which lets us know you have medical insurance (which is required by MSHSAA) and that you have read and agree to all terms.

Announcements:
7th & 8th Grade Students: You are able to join in summer enrichment with Summer  Journey Summer School. Information packets and applications can be found in the HS Office or Elementary Offices. Call or email Braya Qualman in Elementary for any additional questions. This summer enrichment school will run from May 28th - June 25th from 8am-3pm hosted by Polo Elementary.  

**Students who failed a class at Semester during the 23-24 school year are able to come to Summer School for Credit Recovery. Call the HS Office by Friday, 5/24 to get enrolled. Any students who have 2 or more Fs for 2nd Semester 23-24 will not be eligible to participate in activities for the 1st semester of 24-25 school year unless a credit is made up during summer school. Summer School runs from Tuesday, 5/28 - Tuesday, 6/25 (no school 6/19) from 8am-12pm Monday - Friday. School bus can be provided for morning pick-up but afternoon transportation would be needed. Breakfast and Lunches will be provided free of cost. 

There is a large amount of LOST AND FOUND items that have accumulated this year in the HS Office. Please come check if you've lost a piece of clothing or ask about anything else before it is donated!

The EAA Chapter 944 of Chillicothe, MO will be hosting the 29th Annual Fly-in / Drive-in Pancake Breakfast from 7-10:30am Saturday, 6/8 at the Chillicothe Municipal Airport. Adults:$7, 6-12: $4, 5 & under: Free & Young Eagle Flights for youth ages 8-17 Free, parent or legal guardian must be present. There are flyers with QR codes to register in the HS Office.
